Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni has stated that replacing Lionel Messi is ‘difficult’.

Argentina will face Indonesia in their second international friendly match of the FIFA summer vacation tomorrow.

Scaloni has decided to rest Messi, allowing the 35-year-old to skip the trip to Jakarta.

Angel di Maria of Juventus and Nicolas Otamendi of SL Benfica will also miss the game.

When asked during his pre-match press conference who would replace Messi against Indonesia, Scaloni replied, “Who is going to replace Messi tomorrow?” None. Nobody can play as well as Messi.

“But we will try to make the team play in the same way knowing that he is an impossible player to replace.

“The team is trained to do just as well and we’ll try that. No one is going to play in Messi’s place, but some players will do something similar.”
