President Bola Tinubu elected as the new chairman of ECOWAS

President Bola Ahmed Tinibu has been elected as the new chairman of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), after some months of his inguration as the president of Nigeria.

Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME) stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s emergence as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) would ensure policies promoting economic activities in West Africa and Nigeria.

The President and Chairman Governing Council of NASME, Abdulrashid Yerima, unveiled this on Tuesday in a statement.

Recall that Tinubu emerged as the Chairman of ECOWAS at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the bloc in Guinea Bissau.

Yerima, in his reaction to Tinubu’s emergence, said it would boost Micro, Small and Mediums enterprises within the West African Communitiesat large.

“This will go a long way in helping the economies of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and facilitate the integration of economic activities in the region.

“This will thereby improve security, economies.

“It will also enhance trade because of the large size of the Nigerian market.

“So, it is a win-win for ECOWAS member states, and our country Nigeria”, he stated.
