EPL: Redknapp picks a player who ought to be Chelsea’s penalty shooter

Jamie Redknapp, a former midfielder for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, claims that Nicolas Jackson, a summer acquisition for Chelsea, was the one who ought to have converted the penalty against West Ham rather than Enzo Fernandez.
Jackson is the Chelsea penalty taker, according to Redknapp, since he is a striker and has great touches.
In Sunday’s Premier League match at the London Stadium, Fernandez missed an opportunity to give Chelsea the lead over West Ham.
West Ham eventually prevailed 3-1 in the Premier League game.
“He [Jackson] certainly excited me in pre-season in the Summer Series as well,” Redknapp said while speaking on Sky Sports.
According to him: “He looked sharp. He was bright. He was good on the ball, he’s got lovely touches. He works extremely hard for the team as well. There were moments in the first half where I thought, ‘Wow, what a player this guy looks’. Unfortunately, when you are a No. 9 and a striker, you get judged on your goals.
“He needs one of those moments, like when Enzo Fernandez stepped up and took the penalty, I’d like to see him say, ‘I will take that; I’m a centre-forward; I will put the ball in the back of the net’.”
